Joel Jensen has been a Monterey pet spa owner since 2003. Upon earning his Bachelor Degree from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey in 1997, Joel combined his lifelong love of animals with his new love of the Peninsula...With those ingredients he satisfied his yearning to give back to the community offering experienced knowledge, VIP dog, cat and exotic boarding, grooming, daycare and safe socialization for puppies through adult dogs. Home Away From Home Pet Spa has flourished under his wing and has grown to be a favorite pet facility in our region for both locals and travelers to the area.
A hands on owner, operating a business that recognizes the important role pets play in our lives-whether as companions or therapeutic partners is a reflection of Joel's beliefs and experiences as a ten year veteran of our Armed Forces and a lifelong lover of all creatures big and small.
Joel Jensen's passion and unspoken connection to animals is evident to all who know him. His commitment to his four legged friends and his devotion to those pets and their families go beyond business, it is a genuine love and devotion you quickly realize once you experience its authenticity. You can find Joel and his equally driven and like-minded team caring for your pets as well as fostering, rehabbing and rehoming those furry, less fortunate ones.
We are very proud to announce Joel's participation in the Unchained program at Rancho Cielo and the Kinship Center Mentoring youth fosters to train at risk dogs in an effort to build confidence and compassion in the kids, while giving the dogs the opportunity for second chances.
